On the Motorway.
I really like these sequences. I took the photos on a long tedious trip up to Manchester. I was messing around with shutter speeds and apeture sizes which resulted in some interesting photographs, I kinda liked the way the road blured into a series of grey streaks. I incorporated a proportion of other things into the composition like bits of grass, cars etc. Lorry's were good as they provided a large square of colour to balance the grey. I didn't want the images to be too obviously of lorry's but more suggestive of a motorways. So i made sure they were nice and blury and tried not to show an entire lorry at once. These images probably wont feature in my final piece but for me they served as an interesting exploration of photographic animation.

I Made A GIF :D
So below are a couple of Gifs I made. I used a projector to overlay my video on top of A2 paper so i could use inks to draw each frame. Using the projector means i don't have to be so focused on proportions which frees me up to be more expressive with my mark making and technique. I find that the style of what im drawing tends to change as i get further into the sequence of frames. The first frame i draw tends to be more tentative as i experiment, then by the last one i have found a style that works. The quality of these gifs will be greatly improved when i do the final sequence. My only problem with these animations is the frame rate. Unfortunately due to the cost of animating onto a2 cartridge i cant (at this moment) afford many more frames... Pay day soon though :]
These Gifs are a good way of knocking together a rough mock up of the animation quickly as they show the sequences and give a good impression of the movement, which still image can't do.

Couple of quick Hand drawns
These two Gifs were created from a series of drawings of people walking. The movement and continuity between frames isn't brilliant which is down to the fact i didn't use onion skinning or any other form of visual guidance. This colourfull lose use of inks was inspired by the Cadencia trailer by Daren Bartlett which can be found on my contextual research blog.
I intend to try out many different forms of media to create animations.
Research into OBESITY.
These are a few of the photographs i took when i thought my animation would feature a fat man which i cut from the final when i realized he wouldn't fit.
